Sometimes clients are feeling stuck in creating the changes that they are looking for. They have tried different solutions but still find themselves with the symptoms or challenges that they first wanted to alleviate. For couples, it may be the accumulated issues that they have tried to solve in different ways but still lead to arguments and lack of closeness. For other couples, it may feel overwhelming to talk about an issue that brought on distrust or reminds them of past hurt.
I use a collaborative approach with my clients in order to identify their strengths and address problems/goals from a systemic perspective. A systemic perspective means that I see the world in how our behavioral patterns, personal relationships, and life choices are intertwined with the “systems” we are a part of- like our romantic relationships, family, friendships, and other relationships that we encounter on a regular basis. While we work together we will be creating changes that find a balance between taking care of your individual needs while maintaining healthy and fulfilling relationships. Since I’ll be a part of your system for some time, I will want to create a safe and authentic space where you can show up and express yourself freely!
When you have a safe and inviting therapeutic space where you can authentically be yourself and express your needs and goals, we will be able to explore the areas you are ready to create positive changes in. I value the therapeutic relationship that I have with each client and have found that each story is unique but similar in the sense that we all deserve to be happy, healthy, be loved, and safe.
